Dynaudio Excite X38
The Excite X38 provides a deep, powerful and vibrant sound quality, even in larger spaces. The Excite model X38 utilizes two 18cm diameter woofers featuring characteristic Dynaudio driver technologies, including: lightweight but rigid MSP cone membranes, extraordinarily large 75mm diameter aluminium voice coils with powerful center magnet systems, and high-strength die-cast aluminium frames. That’s how the X38 achieves its resounding bass, thrilling dynamics and incredible control.

Dynaudio Excite X14
Ultra-compact but undeniably high-end: The X14 brings an extraordinary level of sophistication and refinement to the compact loudspeaker category. The X14 is the most compact Excite model yet delivers true high-end sound quality to any system by virtue of its long-excursion mid/woofer, refined soft dome tweeter and first-class crossover components. The exquisite sonic balance, underscored by an unbelievably deep, fast and perfectly controlled bass response is a rarity in this price class. A Dynaudio specialty plays a major role: extremely lightweight aluminium voicecoils and exceptionally large, powerful magnet systems are utilized in the X14 tweeters and mid/woofers.

The music signal reproduced is graced with incredible precision, dynamics and accuracy. Moreover, the X14 is easy to drive with a wide range of amplifiers due to the amp-friendly, extremely linear 4 Ohm impedance. Dynaudio Contour series
With the all-new Contour, we worked hard to return its DNA; it’s character. But, we also wanted to add something new – so, we gave our engineers free rein to experiment with materials, different techniques, and different designs. The result? The brand new Contour. Filled with new drivers, new crossover, a new front baffle (but still in solid metal as your used to with the Contour), and a new curved cabinet.
All of the new Contour loudspeakers are equipped with new drivers. When we started development of these new units, our engineers used Finite Element Method (FEM) to map out all of their moving parts to locate even the slightest room for improvement. Because of the FEM process, we added an extra wave to our spiders that optimize their symmetrical movement. The spiders are merely one of many new features of the drivers: they have new magnet systems, the MSP diaphragm is thinner than usual, taller winding height, even a new glue between the diaphragm and voice coil. All of these new technologies combine to retain the classic Contour DNA (its exquisite midrange) and at the same time to take its bass performance to new heights. We have made changes to the Contour’s front baffle.

On the previous model, it was made in solid cast iron with blunt edges. Now, it’s made from solid aluminium with curved edges; it’s rigid and reduces unwanted vibrations and diffractions while keeping down its weight. You’ll also notice a Dynaudio first: a curved cabinet. This is by no means for the sake of design (Although we think it looks gorgeous). No, curved edges make for a more rigid design that – much like the stiff aluminium front baffle – reduce unwanted vibrations and diffractions. As with all Dynaudio cabinets, the Contour is built with the highest level of craftsmanship. Handmade of course. A single cabinet takes more than two weeks to make: carving, lacquering, sanding, polishing. And, we make four different, exquisite finishes that will make it a welcome addition to any home.

Dynaudio Contour 20
The Contour 20 standmounter takes everything we know about speaker technology and puts it in a compact, clean, and great-sounding package. It’s sweet-toned Esotar2 soft-dome tweeter has been a legend in its own right for years. It’s commonly regarded as one of the world’s best-ever drivers – and because of this position, we just had to give it another outing. The extended-excursion 18cm woofer, though, is brand new. It’s powered by a lightweight aluminium voice-coil and a vented dual-ferrite magnet system. It’s made from MSP – a material we developed ourselves, and have been using in our drivers since 1985. MSP gives exactly the right combination of stiffness and damping – which you’ll hear as exactly the right combination of power, finesse, and control. Just what a Contour speaker should have. But, we’ve taken it further: we’ve varied the diaphragm’s thickness across its surface, which gives even greater control over its sound.

Making a Contour without its signature baffle would be all-near impossible. But, there’s always room for improvement. The new baffle is made from a solid piece of aluminium and set into the cabinet. Its chamfer is included in the driver’s basket – which not only looks great, but also reduces unwanted high-frequency diffraction effects for clearer treble, and provides a solid foundation for the drivers to do their work. A solid foundation means improved high-volume performance at low frequencies. And although we might have changed the cabinet’s shape, the new design tips a respectful nod to older Contours. Look at it from the top; you’ll see the old baffle design in its shape. But, it isn’t just for show – the new shape marries those aesthetics with cutting-edge acoustic physics. Its multilayered construction is extremely well-damped, which means the Contour’s sound goes exactly where it’s supposed to: forwards. We’ve redesigned the internal wiring and crossover, too You won’t see what we’ve done, but you’ll hear the effect: amazingly clear sound, even off to the sides of the speaker.

Dynaudio Contour 30
Contour 30 step it up a notch from the 20. Of course, it still treads the same path – one of honesty, transparency, and sheer entertainment, but it puts it all in a bigger package. We’ve endowed Contour 30 with two 18cm MSP drivers, as well as doubling up the rear ports. What makes our drivers so special? Variable thickness across the diaphragm, for one thing. And aluminium voice-coils, for another. We can make them extremely light – but also bigger than the old-style copper units you’ll find elsewhere. Lighter weight means larger diameters, which means we can use more windings, which means we have more control over the cone movement. And that translate to more control over the sound reproduction – especially at high frequencies and high volumes.

We also included the ultra-pure, ultra-clear Esotar2 fabric soft-dome tweeter. And because we’re irrepressible tinkerers, we’ve given the inside a makeover, too. As with the Contour 20 and the Contour 60, the Contour 30 has new baskets to hold the drivers themselves, as well as a new crossover and new wiring. We listened to our old Contours for months and decided we wanted the crossover to serve up even better bass. So, now you can go louder and lower.

Dynaudio Contour 60
That’s what you get with the all-new Contour 60 – in a sleek, elegant design with clear-cut midrange sound reproduction and deep commanding bass performance. It’s a three-way design. At the bottom sits two brand-new 24cm MSP woofers (They’re bigger, redesigned siblings of the 18cm drivers we’ve used in the Contour 20 and 30). At the top, in the new Contour range, is the magnificent Esotar2 soft-dome tweeter. Between them is a completely new 15cm midrange driver. Like the rest of our drivers it uses aluminium voice-coils. It also deploys a neodymium magnet system, and was designed using Finite Element Method optimization methods.

We wanted to retain the signature midrange sound in a lager cabinet, without having to repurpose an existing driver for a job it wasn’t designed for. All the drivers are powered by low-mass, high durability aluminium voice-coils. And the tweeter’s voice-coil sits in a special magnetic ferrofluid. It works like a shock absorber and dissipates heat to reduce stress on the moving parts – which improves power-handling and widens the frequency response to mention as few of its benefits.

The Contour 60 shares the same redesigned crossover and components as the rest of the range. And, of course, the speakers have our furniture-grade construction and finish (our team spends up to three weeks carving, sanding, and polishing both speakers so they’re identical as a pair). The new multi-layer curved cabinet and sleek-but-solid aluminium baffle provide your music with a robust, defined acoustic foundation. So much so that, if we’ve done our jobs right, you’ll forget they’re even there and just … listen.

When we set out to design the Focus XD line, we had one philosophy and one goal: keep the signal pure for as long as possible... and make the best active speakers ever.
So, because our R&D engineers aren’t the type of people to back down from a challenge like that, that’s exactly what they accomplished.

Focus XD is the pinnacle of Dynaudio active speaker tech. Each individual drive unit is powered by its own tailor-made digital amp. And running the show is cutting-edge digital processing technology capable of handling full-fat, 24-bit/192kHz hi-res files.
All the speakers in the range share common controls and connections – so if you want to mix-and-match, you can. There’s digital coaxial in and out, plus analogue input (with adjustable sensitivity), as well as a seven-position control for fine-tuning the speakers’ placement in your room.
And if you add the Dynaudio Connect box, you get digital optical, another digital coaxial and RCA and 3.5mm analogue inputs – plus mini-USB (which can stream 24-bit/96kHz files), aptX Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity (including Spotify Connect and DLNA).

The Focus XD’s firmware can even be upgraded when our engineers have another Eureka! moment (they get them a lot). In fact, that’s exactly what’s just happened. In the 2017 version, not only have they redesigned the crossovers and found a way to use less processing (for an even cleaner sound), they’ve managed to extract more volume from the drivers without distortion or compression. And because there’s less processing happening there, we’ve been able to use more in the EQ for even better speaker-position compensation. We’ve also included tech from our LYD pro-studio monitors that lets you tweak overall brightness with a switch on the back.
Use them with your existing system (they’ll integrate just fine), build a multiroom set-up, or even hook them up to your TV... while getting genuine high-end wireless hi-fi into the bargain.
